Toxicology

If requested, we can obtain specimens to perform toxicology services. The toxicology includes testing of substances of abuse or other substances that you feel might be related to the passing of your family member. Fee varies depending on the substance you are requesting to be evaluated.

Substances that are tested for in a basic toxicology include:

• Opiates
• Cannabinoids 
• Barbiturates
• Benzodiazepines
• Cocaine
• Amphetamines
• Fentanyl
• Methadone
• Methamphetamines
• Oxycodone
• Phencyclidine
• Ethanol 

If the family has specific concerns, other substances that may be tested for at an additional fee include, for example:

• Arsenic
• Cyanide
• Heavy metals
• Carbon monoxide
• Antifreeze
• Rohypnol
• GHB (gamma hydroxybutyric acid)
• Ketamine
• Ecstasy (MDMA)
